Hello and welcome to 4th grade! My name is Mrs. Sanny and I am so excited for this school year to unfold! This year is going to hold so many new and exciting adventures! 4th grade will challenge students to grow as learners, leaders, and individuals.
In this letter, you will find information that will be helpful to both students and parents!
Schedule:
- Class instruction starts promptly at 8:15 every morning. If students arrive after 8:15, they must report to the office first to receive a tardy slip.
- First Recess: 10:00-10:15
- Students are dismissed on Monday and Wednesday at 2:00 in the afternoon unless otherwise stated. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, students are dismissed at 2:50.
- P.E. will be on Tuesday, Thursday and every other Friday from 9:00-9:50.
- Lunch Recess: 11:50-12:10
- Lunch: 12:10-12:35
- Library: Wednesday from 10:20-10:50
Behavior Expectations:
- Students are expected to speak and behave in a matter that is respectful to others and conducive to our classroom learning environment at all times.
- Students are welcome to do as they wish as long as it does not disrupt their learning or others.
- Disrespectful words and actions toward other students or adults will not be tolerated.
Homework:
- All homework must be completed and ready to go by 8:15 every morning.
- Students are responsible for using their agendas to record daily homework.
- Homework will be graded, entered into my grade book, posted onto AERIES, and sent home weekly.
- Parents and students are encouraged to check AERIES weekly to stay up to date with student’s current grades as well as keep their old work to refer back to when needed.
- I will do my best to ensure prompt and timely feedback to the student for each specific assignment. I believe that students need to be aware of their progress and areas of improvement on assignments and tests as immediate as possible.
- Students have the opportunity to redo any assignment to receive a better score (excluding projects, quizzes, or tests). The redo work must be completed on student’s own time (not during class time) and must be returned within one day of requesting the redo.
- Students are responsible for requesting any work that they may miss.
- Students have the amount of days of the excused absence to complete missing work without any penalty.
